Nature's Revival - By Dimitri D.
This piece is about mother nature and its return from winter. As Winter is slowly being defrosted within her, spring strats to bloom through her hair.
This is a piece i did on Nas and his influential song One Mic. I wanted this piece to resonate the same feeling you get when listening to the lyrics of the song. All the lyrics to this song flow from Nas's shirt through his self as well into creating the city where he's from and the city the song is talks about.
Samson - By Dimitri D.
Medium - Acrylic
The tale of Samson and Delilah is one of the most well known stores in the bible. My painting is about that last moment he has talking to God as the
palace is falling apart around him from destroying the pillars.
Chalchiuitilicue - By Dimitri Dub
Medium: Acrylic on Masonite
Chalchiuitilicue is another of the Aztec gods or I would say goddess.
She
is the rain goddess who in the Aztec culture represents water and
fertility. Both these dual roles gave her both life giving and a life
ending role in Aztec mythology. This painting is part of the two series
painting I dud of the sun and rain gods of the Aztec culture.Huitzilopochtli is one of the Aztec Gods. In Particular the sun god. He is a Mesoamerican deity of war and the sun and the patron of the city Tenochtitlan. It is said that he was the deity according to tradition that led the Mexica people from Aztlan their homeland to central America. Through several research on Aztec culture i decided to do a painting on this Aztec God not only because of his immense influence on the Aztec culture but also because of his back story and his creation.
Medium: Acrylic & water color on wood
This thus far is one of my favorite pieces I've done, not only because of the
piece itself but because of the person its about. J Cole is one of the newest rappers out in this new generation of rap that has great talent and great lyrical ability. within his songs he always connects with his audience with story's that he tells.
Alicia Keys - by Dimitri Dub
Medium: Acrylic & water color on wood
This by far is one of the most exciting paintings I've done so far.
Alicia Keys, a power house, an embodiment of strong beautiful black women, with an amazing voice. she has done such great things for people in need and her community, and enrichment for young children growing up in the struggle. I wanted to show appreciation to her.
